When The Sun Sets Unveils Vivacious Cover Of Post Malone's Hit Single "I Had Some Help," Announces Upcoming Spring Tour Dates
Chicago based pop-punk band, When The Sun Sets, are sharing their pop-punk rendition of Post Malone’s record hit “I Had Some Help”. While keeping the track’s original form intact, When The Sun Sets, gives the Billboard chart-topping hit a fun, pop-punk feel!
"We wanted to really challenge ourselves musically on this cover and we believe that we gave this song a whole new life in pop-punk form. A Billboard topping single was a major task, but I think what kept us going was the thought of this being our 'Pop Goes Punk' version, trying to keep what didn't need to be changed but make it our own in a unique way. Our producer, Roye Robley, has helped us so much throughout our career with piecing together the puzzles that create songs and this cover provided our entire team the opportunity to attack something completely new for us. We are looking forward to sharing this one with the world and showing people a little piece of what our band is if they are new to our stuff!" - When The Sun Sets
Voicing their strong beliefs in preventing suicide and bringing awareness to mental health, their goal is to make their listeners, in a live setting and through their recordings, feel like they are not alone in anything that they are going through. The band hones in on their ability to write relatable lyrics that highlight a message of mental health and suicide awareness.
“For me, it’s going through my own experiences. You may think you're alone, but a lot of people are going through the same thing. Our biggest thing we want to get through to our audience is that you’re never alone,” says vocalist Zack Baumgartner about the band’s lyrics.
Now independent, the band is gearing up to release a full-length album amongst a string of singles. The release will feature artists such as: The Home Team, 408, Definitely Maybe, and lolitslea to showcase some talented friends in the scene and display the next step in their songwriting. Their most recent EP "You + Me 4 Never" has yielded over 300,000 streams on Spotify alone.
The newest single off their upcoming LP “Undertow” expands their sound. The song has a serene atmosphere with a kick of pop-punk to add a lively aspect. “The concept behind ’Undertow’ is about struggling with your mental health even when you’re making progress with it." Says Baumgartner about the new track. "This song gives a take on the feeling of being swept away by your own griefs and hardships. It has always been our mission as a band to create a community where we everyone can support and love each other for who they are, and provide awareness to mental health through our music."
“In working together, we aim to provide hope for anyone who is looking for it through ‘Undertow’ and highlight some of the positives in every day. ‘At least I made it out of bed today’ is a win that you can go into every day cherishing, and work off of that.”
